Droom is India’s most trusted auto marketplace to buy and sell, new and used automobiles. The marketplace recently organized the country’s first and only automotive awards for pre-owned vehicles. This event was held on December 11, 2018, at ITC Maurya, New Delhi. For these awards, we had KPMG as the process partner and IFFCO-Tokio the presenting sponsor. This edition of pre-owned automobile awards acknowledged the contribution of individuals or organizations for the growth and success of previously owned vehicles in the country.
Droom pre-owned automotive awards 2018 was a star-studded affair, with attendees constituting esteemed names from the automobile industry like Sunil Munjal, Chairman, Hero Enterprise. With this, the jury comprises of auto experts and popular influencers from the automotive industry, namely Jagdish Khattar – Former Managing Director of Maruti Udyog Limited, Neharika Yadav – India’s fastest lady Super biker, Garima Avtar – Renowned Rally racer, Sandeep Gajjar – CEO, Editor & Chief Photographer for xBhp, Faisal Khan – CEO MotorBeam and Yudhishtar Urs – Actor & Television Presenter.
Classified into four main categories these awards were meant to cover the major aspects and aspiration of the industry. These were the Jury’s Choice, Buyer’s Choice, Dealer’s Choice and Best of Droom award categories. Each of the award categories was further bifurcated into ten sub-categories that constitutes of 110+ nominations from more than 35 OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers). The judging criteria for each of the categories was based on assorted methodologies. This also includes the online vote cast of buyers and dealers for the buyer’s choice and dealer’s choice sub-categories respectively.
For the four-wheeler segment, Honda City declared the Sedan of the year in both the buyer’s and dealer’s choice sub-category. Also, Maruti Suzuki Baleno recognized as the Hatchback of the year and Hyundai Creta was awarded as the SUV of the year in the buyer’s choice category. Whereas, Maruti Suzuki Swift declared as the Most sold car on Droom. In the two-wheeler segment, Hero Activa Scooter won the Scooter of the year in both the buyer’s and dealer’s choice sub-categories. Whereas, Hero Splender Plus was the Most sold bike on Droom. This event was hosted by Bollywood Actor Aparshakti Khurana and renowned Anchor & Journalist Aabha Bajaya. They exchanged several keynotes about the trends and future of the auto trade associations, veterans and industrial bodies across the country. Packed with loads of entertainment that includes a thrilling show by the talented illuminati dance group and the show-stopper Hardy Sandhu. The ceremony saw the surprise launch of Orange Book Value by Sandeep Aggarwal, Founder and CEO, Droom and Rajiv Makhni, Managing Editor Technology, NDTV.
