The upcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor is being chased by a Dominar 400 on the Tamil Nadu highway.
The upcoming Royal Enfield twin-cylinder motorcycle has been spotted doing its test rounds yet again on the Tamil Nadu highway. A recently uploaded video on YouTube shows a Bajaj Dominar 400 chasing the twin-cylinder Royal Enfield to get a glimpse of the bike’s speed.
The video shows Kamalakannan Raju riding a Bajaj Dominar and being overtaken by the upcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor. The rider then decides to chase the Interceptor. The Dominar loses its breath past the 160 km/hr mark while the Interceptor zooms ahead showing its high-speed capabilities.
During the high-speed chase, the Dominar 400 rider noticed that the Interceptor rider had braked hard and locked the rear wheel, which indicates that this test mule could be featuring a single-channel ABS or ABS itself could be missing as well.
The test mule wears a black paint colour and is in its Cafe Racer avatar. The bike has a single piece seat without any cowl. Engine specifications of the motorcycle aren’t yet available. However, we expect the upocming Royal Enfield Interceptor to have a power output of 45-50 HP and a similar torque figure as well. The vehicle is expected to be priced around the Rs. 3.5 lakh mark and will rival the Harley-Davidson Street 750.
The Interceptor is expected to be unveiled at the 2017 EICMA Motor Show in Milan.
