The Delhi Government is considering a recommendation from a high power special task force to reduce growing traffic in the state. The proposal is to have congestion fee on vehicles, which would encourage people to use public transport. With onver 70 lakh vehicles, Delhi has more vehicles than all the other three metros combined. Congestion charges are not new and is used in London for quite some time now. With 7 lakh vehicles entering Delhi everyday, reducing average speeds to 12kmph, the new law if implemented might be another shot for bribes to flourish in our country.
