Compact SUV sales in December 2021 did not grow as much as we’ve come to expect in recent times, but what has improved greatly is the sales performance of the Tata Nexon.
The compact SUV registered sales of 12,899 units in December 2021 with a 89 percent growth in sales year-on-year.
One unit each of the second-placed Hyundai Venue was driven home by 10,360 new buyers last month, while Maruti’s Vitara Brezza came third with 9531 unit sales.
Mahindra’s XUV300 followed the above-mentioned models having found 4260 new takers in December 2021 and during the same time, Kia retailed 3578 units of the Sonet.
Nissan has managed to deliver 2653 units of the Magnite this past month, whereas Toyota sold 2359 units of the Urban Cruiser in the same period.
Mahindra’s Thar, arguably the true compact SUV of the bunch, found 2138 new homes, Renault Kiger posted 2117 unit sales and Honda retailed 85 units of the WR-V last month and with that the December 2021 compact SUV sales chart is complete.
In all, the vehicles from the segment registered combined sales of 49,980 units, which is a decent 7 percent increase in sales when compared with the same period from the year before.
