Production of the Datsun redi-GO Sport has been increased from 1000 to 1800 units due to high demand.
Datsun had launched the redi-GO Sport last month and the special edition of the hatchback came with quite a few cosmetic tweaks and enhancements to the exteriors and interiors. At the time of launch, the company had announced that they will be producing only 1000 units of the vehicle, but now the automaker has increased its production by 800 units.
Nissan claims that the first 1000 units of the redi-GO Sport got sold out within a month of launch and hence they are increasing production to meet customers’ demands. Deliveries for this new batch of cars will be scheduled for next month.
The Datsun redi-GO Sport comes with 9 changes over the regular hatchback and these changes include red accents on the grille, black wheel caps, body decals, rear spoiler and some red accents on the inside. There are no mechanical changes and the redi-GO Sport comes with the same 800cc petrol engine.
The redi-GO Sport is available only on the top trim and is offered in 3 colours – Ruby, White and Grey. It is priced at Rs. 3.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Datsun redi-GO competes with the Maruti Alto 800, Hyundai Eon and Renault Kwid.
