Nissan has launched its second offering for the Indian market under its Datsun brand, christened as the GO+, which is essentially a stretched version of the GO hatchback with third row of seats (best suited for small kids). Being a sub 4-metre vehicle, Datsun claims that the GO+ is India’s first compact family wagon. The new TVC shows Alok Nath as Babuji discussing about cars with his friends. He believes that no car offers multiple things together like aa powerful engine, flexible cabin, fuel efficiency, luggage space, etc.

Indirectly targeting Maruti cars, as shown in the TVC (Maruti Wagon R), Babuji says you have to compromise on one thing or another. He says if anyone wants to buy a car that offers everything together, you have to work for 40 years in order to afford such a car. To deny this statement of Babuji, Ayushmann Khurrana comes in the Datsun GO+ and says that “I’m only 27 year old” (actually he is 30+ in real life). Babuji gets impressed and says this is the new Parampara (tradition).

They are trying to convey that the Datsun GO+ is an affordable car that offers much more than what compact cars in this segment and price bracket offer. Targeting the young aspirants of India, the Datsun GO+ comes with a starting price of Rs. 3.80 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), being just Rs. 57,000/- more than the GO hatchback. Powering the GO+ is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 68 HP and 104 Nm, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The vehicle returns an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 20.6 km/l.
