Renault’s low cost brand Dacia is growing globally and has made it to the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Dacia has modified the Duster in a special Duster Black Edition and premiered the car at the auto event. This Duster sports a mean matte black paint job, brushed black vinyl wrap finish to be more specific. The interiors and features are more upmarket. The Romanian company confirmed the new Duster as a celebratory mark of the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The Black Edition Duster is based on the Ambiance version holding under the 110 PS version of the dCi diesel engine the hood. The interiors are done in an ash leather form and grained leather upholstery. This Duster will roll around on 18-inch five dual-spoke alloy wheels. To play with on the inside, a Kenwood media system with a 6-inch screen offering Bluetooth handsfree calling, iPod connectivity, USB and DVD playback and Garmin Navigation system has been added.
The Black Edition of this compact crossover gained immense attention at the festival and currently goes on sale in the UK. The on-road price is announced at £15,575 (₹ 15.9 lakhs). The price is definitely on the higher side. However, the Renault Duster in India has completed a year, so a similar celebratory Duster for India, keeping in mind limited numbers shouldn’t be a bad idea. The Duster is also ready for a mid-life facelift. Major changes are expected on the Duster and would be launched around September.
