The DC Avanti was spotted in a production ready avatar on the streets of Delhi wearing a blue shade and silver finished alloy wheels.
The first mid-engined sports car to be made in India, the DC Avanti has been spotted in Delhi in what is expected to be a customer spec, production ready version of the sports car. With bookings commenced and promotions in full swing, it is believed that DC has commenced deliveries of the Avanti to the first 500 customers that had originally booked the two-door coupe last year. Spotted in a shimmering blue shade with silver finished 20-inch alloy wheels, this Avanti could be a production-ready test vehicle or a dealer showcase model.
Powering the Avanti is a Renault sourced 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 250 HP of power and 360 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The coupe is capable of doing the 0-100 km/hr run in 6 seconds and has an electronically-limited top speed of 200 km/hr. Built on a composite high steel chassis, the Avanti is light with a kerb weight of 1562 kgs and the custom car maker has incorporated carbon fibre in the making of the two-door sports car that helps keep the overall weight at a minimum. With an extensive optional list, customers can add Bi-Xenon headlamps, push button start-stop with Smart key, Alcantara seats, reverse camera, carbon fibre accessories, custom paint job among other features to the sports car.
Apparently, the first Avanti was delivered to a customer in Delhi last month and the company is slowly delivering the models to other owners across the country. The Pune based manufacturer has also commenced promotional activities for the sports car in malls as well as public spaces and is asking for a booking amount of Rs. 15 lakhs to get the chassis rolling on the assembly line. Given its custom car building roots, DC is offering a host of customization options to customers at the time of booking. Prices for the Avanti start at Rs. 35 lakhs (ex-showroom).
