The Volkswagen Taigun could possibly come with ADAS or advanced driver assistance systems, by the look of things.
Volkswagen unveiled the India-spec Taigun back in March and is getting ready to put the compact SUV on sale in the market in the coming months.
Knowing that it could prove to be a make-or-break product, the German brand has equipped the car with plentiful features including a digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment display, ventilated seats, electric sunroof, ambient lighting, and so on.
Similarly, the Taigun can also be had with safety features such as 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Tyre Pressure Deflation Warning, Rear Park Distance Control, Hill Hold Control and 3 head-restraints in the back seat.
As it turns out, that is not the end of safety features the Hyundai Creta rival will come equipped with. Displayed on the car’s digital instrument cluster in 1 of the interior images released by the firm is the Lane Keep Assist icon.
Similarly, the adaptive cruise control icon can also be seen on the driver’s cluster, while the controls for the 2 features are present on the steering wheel. Furthermore, the SUV might also be equipped with a Park Assist feature.
Could it be possible that the Volkswagen Taigun ADAS features were kept a secret to be used as a trump card later on? Well, an official statement by Volkswagen should clear the air around the matter.
When it gets launched, the Taigun will come with 2 TSI engine options (a 1.0-litre unit and a 1.5-litre motor) and 3 gearbox choices including 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter and 7-speed DSG.
