Citroen C5 Aircross Next Generation Design Patents Leaked, Reveals Borrowed Design Cues From Citroen Oli Concept

The Citroen C5 Aircross was revealed under a flashy concept guise in October 2024. However, images of the design patent have surfaced recently, allowing for greater insight into the styling. Let’s look at the next-gen Fortuner rivalling SUV in detail.

Front Styling Changes

The next-gen French SUV seems to be an evolution of the outgoing model rather than a revolution. It takes design cues from the Citroen Oli Concept, revealed in 2022. The headlights are sleek with LED DRLs in a C-shape, retained from the concept. Additionally, the revised bumper design can be noticed with an air intake.

Side & Rear Profile Enhancements

There are flush door handles, observable in the side profile. The plastic cladding adds aggression and sportiness to the elegant silhouette of the vehicle. The alloys are also less drastic than before. The D-Pillar is finished in black to create a floating design for the roof.
The rear also has the C-shape theme which is in line with the Citroen design language. The rear tail lamps continue to get connected lightbar treatment. The revised rear bumpers also offer a two-tone effect.

Interior

The interior images haven’t been released as of now, but it is expected that it will be roomier than before. The reason is that the C5 Aircross concept is measured at 4650 mm which is 150 mm more than the outgoing model, hence the speculation.

Engines

The C5 Aircross is the first vehicle based on the Stellantis’ STLA platform. However, the powertrain details haven’t surfaced as of now. It is expected to feature hybrid and all-electric powertrain combinations along with the usual Internal Combustion engines.

The Citroen C5 Aircross will be officially unveiled sometime in 2025 but exact details remain undisclosed. The current C5 Aircross is assembled in India from CKD (Complete Knocked Down) kits. Currently, there is no confirmation as to whether the next generation of the C5 Aircross will make it to India.
