Design rendering of the Citroen C3 compact SUV set to be launched in India next year has surfaced online.
Internally called the CC21, the car has been spotted testing many a time on Indian roads and will get launched after the C5 Aircross goes on sale in the market.
These design renderings show that the CC21 is likely to come with a strong design language to make it look more like an SUV.
Upfront, we can see a sculpted bonnet, LED DRLs that connect with the chrome strip that forms the brand’s badge, main headlights also connected by the chrome strip, and hexagonal elements flanking the large central air dam.
It has a clean surface along the sides, while the bottom portion has generous plastic cladding, much like other Citroens, while there are roof rails as well.
At the back, the LED tail lights are connected by a black trim piece, while the bumper is refreshingly devoid of faux skid plate.
Several prototypes of the sub-4-metre car have been spotted already and it is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor.
This car will also spawn a fully-electric variant that is likely to be launched in 2022 with battery sizes of 30 kWh and 40 kWh and will likely be powered by 50 HP (for the smaller battery variant) and 80 HP (for the larger variant) electric motors.
The EV will be sold in Europe as well, but will take the form of the Peugeot e-208. Further, the compact SUV is expected to be sold in other markets, such as Brazil, as well.
When launched, the Citroen C3 will compete against Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, and the likes.
