Citroen C3 Aircross automatic to launch on 29th January
Citroen C3 Aircross to get a wider audience as the carmaker plans to introduce a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission option for the SUV. Scheduled for launch on 29th January, the automatic variant has already started making its way to dealerships, with some offering test drives ahead of the official release. This move aims to cater to a broader audience seeking the convenience of an automatic gearbox.
The C3 Aircross, known for its three-row layout in the compact SUV segment, will retain its specifications, powered by the 110 PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. The automatic transmission is expected to complement this engine, maintaining similar powertrain figures as its manual counterpart.
Bookings for the automatic variant are already open at select Citroen dealerships across the country. Notably, there are no anticipated visual changes to the exterior and interior styling of the SUV.
The current price range for the C3 Aircross SUV spans from Rs. 9.99 lakhs to Rs. 12.74 lakhs (ex-showroom). With the introduction of the automatic variants, a slight premium is expected, estimated to be around Rs. 1 lakh over the corresponding manual trims. This pricing strategy aligns with industry standards, providing customers with a choice between manual and automatic options based on their preferences and budget.
It competes with the lower variants of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, MG Astor and the likes. Additionally, it presents an interesting alternative to MPVs like the Maruti Ertiga, XL6 and Kia Carens.
