The interior of the upcoming Citroen C21 compact SUV has been spied and the development mule had a large touchscreen atop its dashboard.
Angled toward the driver, the touchscreen sits at the same level as the instrument cluster which looks to be inspired by the binnacle on the C5 Aircross premium SUV.
Similarly, the steering wheel of the compact SUV spotted on test takes after the premium SUV’s steering design as well.
The Citroen C21 interior spied image shows a car that is clearly a work in progress for it has an unfinished dashboard. Also, its 5-speed manual transmission gear lever can be seen on the console.
On the outside, the compact SUV has a Citroen C3-inspired “face”. There are split lighting units, with the DRLs sitting on top, while the main headlight units flank the radiator grille.
Down below, the air dam has a slit and although the whole car is camouflaged, the rugged elements on the front bumper can be seen.
Coming to the rear, the compact SUV has a rounded profile, a decent-sized boot lid and a deep bumper in which sit the rear parking sensors.
Based on the PSA Group’s Common Modular Platform (CMP), the C21 compact SUV will be launched around the festive season this year.
To be a petrol-only model, the car will come with both naturally-aspirated (NA) and turbocharged engines. The latter (a 1.2-litre unit) will also get an auto gearbox option, while both engines will share the 5-speed manual.
When launched, the car will join a huge list of models including the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite among others that compete in the sub-4 metre SUV space.
