Citroen & BluSmart Mobility collaborate to push for electric mobility in India
Citroen has announced a partnership with BluSmart Mobility, eMobility service provider. The collaboration aims to bolster BluSmart’s electric fleet with the addition of 4000 units of Citroen eC3.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Citroen and BluSmart underscores a shared commitment to advancing electric mobility in India. The first phase of this collaboration saw 125 Citroen eC3 vehicles being inaugurated at BluSmart’s EV charging superhub in Bengaluru.
The Citroen eC3 has an ARAI claimed range of 320 km on full charge and 100% DC Fast Charge capability. The eC3 gets a 29.2 kWh battery pack that powers a front-mounted electric motor producing 56 BHP and 143 Nm of torque. The car can accelerate from 0-60 km/hr in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 107 km/hr.
Shishir Mishra, Brand Director at Citroen India, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the eC3’s attributes as a practical and environmentally conscious transportation solution. He emphasised the significance of initiatives like BluSmart’s shared electric mobility service in promoting sustainable urban transportation.
BluSmart’s Co-founder and CEO, Anmol Jaggi, echoed Mishra’s sentiments, emphasising the alignment of Citroen’s vision with BluSmart’s mission to achieve net-zero mobility. Jaggi emphasised the importance of building a comprehensive EV ecosystem in India, addressing the growing demand for electric ride-hailing services while offering riders a diverse range of advanced EVs.
The partnership also introduces Assure by BluSmart, a financing opportunity aimed at retail and institutional investors to support the transition to electric mobility. Through Assure, investors can finance the purchase of EVs and lease them to BluSmart, contributing to the expansion of the electric fleet.
BluSmart’s commitment to sustainability is further demonstrated through its integrated energy-infrastructure-mobility business model. They have a significant fleet of EVs and an extensive network of EV charging superhubs. Currently they have a fleet of MG ZS EV and Tata Tigor EV.
