The Citroen Basalt is going to make its debut in India on 2nd August and this coupe SUV seems quite interesting for now. It will be placed in the same segment as the Tata Curvv while also aiming to give competition to other compact SUVs like the Creta and Seltos.
The Citroen Basalt will share some components with the C3 Aircross but it will also get more features. First up, the vehicle will get a large touchscreen similar to its siblings. The Basalt will also get auto climate control. The cabin gets other features like digital instrument cluster, leatherette upholstery, front and rear armrests with cupholders, etc.
In comparison, the C3 Aircross gets manual AC and a driver-side armrest also. The rear headrests of the Basalt will also get a new contoured shape for added comfort. Some of these features will be offered on the C3 Aircross in the coming months.
As far as the engine goes, the Basalt will share its 1.2-litre, 3-cyl, turbo petrol engine with the C3 Aircross. The engine delivers 110 HP and comes with the option of either a 6-speed MT or 6-speed AT. While the C3 Aircross is priced at Rs. 11.65 – 16.95 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai), the Basalt is expected to be priced Rs. 1.50 Lakh more.
