The 2016 Auto Expo is going to be an exciting event for all of us. A lot of new products are going to be showcased at this biennial event. GM India will be showcasing two new concepts at the expo and the company has now teased us with a picture of one of these concepts. As we can see in the picture, the vehicle seems to be based on the new generation Beat which is also known as the Spark in certain countries.
The next generation Chevrolet Beat is going to be launched in India in 2017 and what GM is going to showcase at the 2016 Auto Expo is a crossover version of the model. It carries Chevrolet’s signature double-grille and the headlights have a very aggressive appearance. The styling looks muscular too. The bumper gets rugged elements and the vehicle will also get a body cladding, thus giving the car a very crossover-ish look. It will compete with the Fiat Avventura, Hyundai i20 Active and Toyota Etios Cross when launched in India.
The regular version of the 2016 Chevrolet Beat (Spark) was showcased last year itself at the Seoul Motor Show. The new Beat, however, is still based on the same platform as that of the current model. The fourth generation Beat comes with a lot of styling enhancements compared to the current model and the interiors also get a lot of changes, thus making it a very smart hatchback. The global version of the new Beat comes with a 1.4-litre EcoTec petrol engine.
Apart from the Beat Cross, Chevrolet will be showcasing one more concept vehicle at the 2016 Auto Expo. The company had earlier displayed the Adra concept at the 2014 Auto Expo and this vehicle will go into production by 2018. Also, the American automaker will be displaying the Spin MPV which will be launched in India in the near future while other iconic vehicles like the Corvette and Camaro will also be showcased. Chevrolet will also display its newly launched cars such as the TrailBlazer and the updated Cruze.
