General Motors India flagged off the Chevrolet Vintage Car Drive to commemorate the celebrations of the completion of 100 years of the brand’s successful operations globally in 2011. The proud owners of Chevrolet Vintage cars drove through town in unison with the company’s top management, cruising through New Delhi on the morning of Sunday, October 31. The line-up for the drive included Chevrolet convertibles, tourers, sedans, two and four-door cars and coupes, dating back to 1926.
“It’s an exciting day to ride the 28 kilometers with vintage Chevrolet cars from India. The Drive recognizes not just these proud owners of our vintage cars but also commemorates the 100 years celebrations of Chevrolet globally. Chevrolet has always believed in bringing together the finest elements in its creations for its valued customers. This is a proud moment for us and this is a platform to recognize the brand values and Chevrolet promise that we stand by,” Mr Karl Slym said.
The drive was flagged off by Mr Karl Slym, President and Managing Director, General Motors India and accompanied by senior company officials. The drive began at 11 am from Hotel Claridges with much fanfare and excitement. Cheered by onlookers, the participants rode through Chanakyapuri, Mother Crescent Road, India Gate before making their way back to Hotel Claridges, where a celebration brunch awaited them. Members of Delhi’s swish set turned up in large numbers to celebrate the occasion with them.
