What comes to your mind when you think of a muscle car? Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro or Dodge Charger right? So, after showcasing the Camaro SS at the 2012 Auto Expo, Chevrolet has now displayed the Camaro ZL1 at the 2014 Auto Expo. The ZL1 looks like a stonker of a muscle car and much more sportier than the regular Camaro which in itself is a beast. The ZL1 is claimed to be the most technologically advanced Camaro until now. Chevrolet introduced the first ever Camaro ZL1 in 1969 and the legend is still here, only in a better form.
The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is loaded with Boston Acoustics 9-speaker system, Performance Traction Management, Magnetic Ride Control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear vision package, remote vehicle starter system (only with AT), colour heads-up display (HUD), driver information center, suede seats, heated front seats, SiriusXM Satellite Radio and much more. The vehicle comes with a maximum fuel tank capacity of 72-litres and the claimed fuel efficiency is 5.95 km/l in the city and 8.08 km/l on the highways.
The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 packs a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine under the hood and power is delivered to the rear wheels. The engine produces 580 BHP of power and 556 Nm of torque. The front and rear suspensions both are multi-link and Chevrolet has provided Brembo disc brakes all round. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard while a 6-speed automatic transmission is optional. We’d choose the manual for more fun. StabiliTrak stability control system is also standard on the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
