Check Out Yamaha R25 Promo Infused With R-DNA [Video]

The Yamaha R25 has undoubtedly been the most talked about two-wheeler launch this year. The quarter-litre sports bike is the latest from the Japanese two-wheeler giant to be infused with the R-DNA, sporting on-track capabilities. Yamaha has now launched a new promo video of the R25 that showcases the credentials of the sports bike, where it charges on every corner and straight of the race track.

Powering the Yamaha R25 is a 249cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, DOHC, 8-valve engine with offset Die-cast aluminium Silicon (DiASil) cylinders, forged aluminium pistons and carburized connecting rods that produces 36 PS of power at 12,000 RPM and 22.6 Nm of torque at 10,000 RPM, paired to a 6-speed transmission. The quarter-litre bike uses a steel diamond type frame and weighs 166 kgs with a 50:50 weight distribution. Suspension duties are performed by 41 mm telescopic front forks, while the rear gets a monoshock suspension setup.

The Yamaha R25 gets 110/70/17 front tyre and 140/70/17 rear tyre with stopping power coming from the 298 mm 2-pot floating disc brake at the front and 220 mm 1-pot disc brake setup at the rear. The motorcycle sports a short muffler that produces a race type exhaust note. The front fairing also optimises the aerodynamics on the R25 for added performance on the track.

The Yamaha R25 can achieve a top speed of 173 km/hr and has been priced at Rs. 2.7 lakhs (Indian equivalent) in Indonesia. Yamaha is planning to sell over 12,000 units of the R25 in the first year of sales, which is not too huge considering the kind of fan following the R25 has generated. Competing against the Kawasaki Ninja 300, the upcoming Honda CBR300R and the likes in the segment, the Yamaha R25 will make it to Indian shores only next year.
