The Auto Expo 2025 brought the debut of the BYD Sealion 7, a premium electric SUV that blends style, performance and cutting-edge technology. Bookings are already open, with deliveries expected to commence from 7th March, 2025.
The Sealion 7 is expected to be priced at around Rs. 45 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will be offered in two variants:
- Premium
- Performance
Both variants of the Sealion 7 are equipped with an 82.56 kWh battery pack but they differ significantly in terms of output and drivetrain:

The Performance variant’s acceleration, hitting 0-100 km/hr in just 4.5 seconds, is impressive for a vehicle of this size, showcasing the SUV’s sporty DNA.
The Sealion 7 stands out with its modern SUV coupe-like design. The sharp LED headlights, tapered roofline, flush door handles and dual-tone 19-inch alloys (with an option for 20-inch wheels) add to its premium aesthetics. At the rear, the connected tail lamps and sporty spoilers complete the bold look.
Inside, the cabin offers a luxurious experience with:

- 10.25-inch digital driver’s display
- White Nappa leather upholstery

Passengers in the rear get heated seats, dual AC vents, and charging sockets ensuring comfort and convenience. The car also gets 11 airbags.
The Sealion 7 incorporates BYD’s latest innovations, including Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, which integrates the Blade Battery into the chassis for improved safety and handling. It also features Intelligent Torque Adaptation Control (iTAC), enhancing driving stability.
The Sealion 7 offers a range of up to 567 km (Premium variant), making it an ideal choice for long-distance travel. The vehicle’s V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality allows users to power appliances directly from the car’s battery.
