The BYD e6 is related to the BYD Song Max designed by former Audi Group Head Designer Wolfgang Egger
The BYD e6 electric MPV has been spied undisguised yet again, this time around in Hyderabad. MotorBeamer Avinash Lakkoju took these images of the electric people carrier.
Painted in white, the e6 has projector lights with DRLs. The lights are connected by a chrome bar, below which sits the hexagonal and perforated grille.
The bumper has a couple of triangular elements and a splitter as well. Along the sides, the recently spied BYD e6 has a rising waistline, small windows and a prominent character line.
It rides on alloy wheels, has chrome window garnish, a shark fin antenna and also a spoiler, while at the back a pair of split LED tail lights come connected by a chrome trim.
It is a sleek vehicle that also has quite a bit of kit like a rotatable 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster, USB ports, electrically adjustable front seats, rear air-con vent, electronic parking brake to name a few, and the boot space is 580 litres.
But, the most important thing is that the BYD e6 is offered with a 71.7 kWh battery pack that offers 522 km range on a single charge. It comes powered by a 70 kW (94 BHP) electric motor that makes 180 Nm of torque.
The MPV can be fully charged in 90 minutes using a 60 kW DC charger and in 108 minutes if a 40 kW AC charger is used.
Likely to be introduced in India later this year, the electric car will be a CBU import and thus, by default, will be a premium MPV.
