Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the BS6 V-Strom 650XT ABS with a price tag of Rs. 8.84 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The ultimate adventure tourer motorcycle, according to Suzuki’s own words, was showcased at the Auto Expo held earlier this year and is the first BS6-compliant big bike from the firm to be launched in India.
Looking the same as its BS4 version, though it has slight changes to the decals, the motorcycle continues to be powered by the 645cc V-twin.
The BS6 compliant engine produces 71 PS at 8800 RPM and 62 Nm of torque at 6300 RPM. The same engine in BS4 spec put out 71 PS at 8800 RPM and 62 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM.
The middleweight adventure bike comes with Suzuki Easy Start System, ABS, and the BS6 Suzuki V-Strom 650XT price also gets customers a 3-mode traction control system.
The instrument cluster features an analogue tachometer and an LCD screen to display the speed, among other details.
The motorcycle weighs 216 kg and has a 20-litre fuel tank. The tyre sizes are 110/80-R19 upfront and 150/70-R17 at the rear.
Ground clearance is 170 mm and the seat height is 835 mm. Suspension-wise, the bike rides on telescopic forks upfront with 150 mm travel and at the back, there is a preload adjustable rear monoshock.
Built on a lightweight frame, Suzuki claims the bike provides steady handling and manoeuvrability, and has the perfect balance between, performance and control.
There are two colour options available with the bike, namely Champion Yellow No. 2 and Pearl Glacier White. It will be available at all Suzuki Big Bikes dealerships across India.
However the elephant in the room is the BS6 Suzuki V-Strom 650XT price that has significantly risen (by Rs. 1.3 lakhs) over its BS4 version.
We will have to wait an see if customers digest the price increase over the BS4 version and buy the motorcycle.
