BMW X7 facelift price revealed for the Indian market
BMW has launched the X7 facelift in India, available with a price tag of Rs. 1.22 crores (ex-showroom) for the xDrive40i M Sport and Rs. 1.24 crores (ex-showroom) for the xDrive40d M Sport.
The SUV is assembled locally in the carmaker’s Chennai plant. Bookings commence today while deliveries of the X7 will begin from March.
The xDrive 40i is powered by a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder in-line petrol engine producing 381 HP and 520 Nm of torque. It does 0-100 km/hr in 5.8 seconds.
There is a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine too for the xDrive 40d variant. It produces 340 HP and 700 Nm of torque. Does 0-100 km/hr in 5.9 seconds. Both the engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
It comes with multiple drive modes – Comfort, Efficient, Sport and Sport Plus. The X7 gets all-wheel drive tech which includes ‘Automatic Differential Brakes/Locks’ (ADB-X), extended ‘Dynamic Traction Control’ (DTC), Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control.
The facelifted X7 comes with a new front profile which gets sleek headlight setup and revised bumper and grille. While some people love the new design, some find it quirky. The side profile looks similar to the outgoing model and the rear profile is more or less the same.
The interior gets updated too, it comes with new 12.3-inch digital information display behind the steering wheel and a 14.9-inch Control Display. It is updated with a new operating system.
The updated model gets new Driver Assistance Systems including Cruise Control, Attentiveness Assistant, Parking Assistant Professional with Surround View Camera, Drive Recorder, remote parking via smartphone and Reversing Assistant.
The BMW X7 competes head on with the Mercedes GLS in the Indian market.
