After Mercedes-Benz having launched its AMG Performance Centres, BMW is coming up with its own M dealerships that will exclusively offer the M range of cars.
You read it first on MotorBeam. BMW is soon going to launch M dealerships that will exclusively sell cars from the BMW M range and the first showroom is going to start very soon. In a bid to create an exciting buying experience for AMG customers, Mercedes-Benz launched a new range of AMG Performance Centres across various metros in the country. These AMG Performance Centres offer an exclusive feeling to buyers of those cars and it worked out as a good marketing strategy too. Now, Mercedes’ arch rival BMW too is thinking on similar lines.
The BMW M range currently consists of the M3, M4, M5 and M6. These cars are highly capable and very fun to drive. But they also face fierce competition from Audi and Mercedes. BMW has priced its M cars at quite a premium and hence they aren’t really selling in good numbers. These new M dealerships will boost the brand’s image by a huge margin and also create more awareness about these supercar rivalling vehicles. The first ever BMW M showroom is coming up right next to the MINI showroom at Bandra, Mumbai. The German automaker will then slowly start rolling out showrooms for other cities too.
The BMW M3’s true rivals are the Audi RS4 and Mercedes C63 AMG. The RS4 isn’t available in India while Mercedes will soon launch the new generation C63 AMG. The M4 too will face a tough time with the C63 AMG in the offing. The BMW M5 has always been a true performance car and it fights it out with the Mercedes E63 AMG, Porsche Panamera and Jaguar XFR. The M6 is a direct competitor to the Audi RS7 but the fact is that the RS7 is priced much lower, on the lines of the BMW M4 and that is why it comes across as the better seller in this segment.
