Competition is hotting up in the emission free vehicles segment and with “Going Green” the only way forward, BMW is all set to roll out its all electric 4 door in 2013, a good 2 years before it was scheduled. BMW seems to have got a wake up call as its arch rival, Mercedes Benz, is poised to launch an electric version of its mini “Smart” car as well as the Mercedes A Class this year. Volkswagen’s electric car is also expected in 2013. With so many electric vehicles on their way, it will be quite interesting to note how competitively they are priced and how successful they are in Indian conditions because the last thing you want is to run out of battery in the midst of a traffic jam. Only time will tell.
