BMW will showcase the G310R at the 2016 Auto Expo and the company will also mark the official entry of BMW Motorrad in the Indian market.
The automotive market is currently buzzing with a lot happening around the 2016 Auto Expo. One such important company to enter the Indian two-wheeler market is BMW Motorrad and the automaker will be showcasing its entire line-up of products at the upcoming biennial event. The company’s officials will also talk about their plans for the Indian market. The German firm will also finally lift the veils off the highly anticipated G310R in India, the bike is a very significant product for the manufacturer across the globe and it has been developed jointly with TVS.
The BMW G310R will spawn a number of variants based on the same platform. The entry-level BMW will also spawn an adventure tourer as well as a full-faired version. The motorbike comes with a 313cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid-cooled, DOHC, fuel-injected engine that unleashes 34 HP of power and 28 Nm of torque. The G310R gets a 6-speed gearbox. The cylinder head has been inclined backwards to 180-degrees that helps achieve an optimum weight balance thus allowing a long swingarm even though the bike has a short wheelbase.
The BMW G310R will be competing with the likes of the Yamaha R3 and KTM RC 390. Despite the fact that the motorcycle will be manufactured in India, it will boast of the same excellent quality levels that are usually found on a BMW. The company will be setting up new dealerships to retail the bike. BMW will also target other emerging markets with this make-in-India machine. It is also said that TVS will showcase its own version of the G310R and it will have a slightly lower price too.
