BMW Motorrad has officially announced their debut collaboration with Yash Raj Films for Dhoom 3 – Back in Action, the 3rd instalment to the successful Dhoom franchise. The film will feature the BMW K1300R and BMW S1000RR superbikes. For BMW Motorrad, the focus is always on the rider’s experience and the high performance bikes play a high profile role throughout the movie with high speed chases and edge of the seat action sequences.
The legendary bike manufacturer believes that its maiden partnership will showcase the extreme abilities that their bikes possess. The filming of the movie took place extensively in Chicago and Mumbai. We will be seeing spectacular chase sequences on the streets of Chicago.
The BMW K1300R is a high performance muscle bike powered by a 1293cc inline 4-cylinder engine that produces 173 HP of power and 140 Nm of torque. It’s naked looks and stealth like design has made it a cult amongst bike enthusiasts. The K1300R does 0 – 100 km/hr in 2.8 seconds and packs a good load of electronics to keep it safe and stable at high speeds. Whereas the BMW S1000RR is a high performance sports bike powered by a 999cc inline 4-cylinder engine that produces 193 HP of power and 106 Nm of torque. The S1000RR is known for its on track capabilities and comes from motorsport pedigree.
The Dhoom series originally started the craze for superbikes among the Indian masses. The 3rd edition stars Aamir Khan on the K1300R, while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will follow in hot pursuit on the S1000RR. The movie also stars Katrina Kaif in leading roles performing daredevil stunts in the movie. Dhoom 3 – Back in Action releases on 20th December, 2013.
