BMW has launched a new variant for the highly successful 5-Series, the 530d M Sport. This trim replaces the current 530d which, after the launch of the 520d and other cheaper variants, sold very slowly. Thus BMW is offering discounts of up to Rs. 3 lakhs on the older 530d, pricing it at only Rs. 51.5 lakhs. The company will discontinue the regular 530d variant after the stocks are over.
What fills in the shoes is the new 530d M Sport which is a special edition with many features exclusive to this model. The vehicle gets a sport pack both on the exterior as well as the interior. The exterior is garnished with an aerodynamics package, side skirts and other sporty additions. It gets a special carbon black metallic paint along with high gloss shadow line trim and a special black trim around the windows. The standard alloys are replaced with 18-inch ‘M’ alloys and a chrome tipped exhaust.

The interior gets an uber-sporty leather-wrapped steering wheel, M sport seats for driver and front passenger, door sills with ‘M’ badge and special anthracite color headliner. The 5-Series also gets a larger 10.2 inch LCD display screen. To make the drive more exciting, the M Sport gets heads up display on the wind screen and an 8-speed automatic transmission with steptronic function with gear shift paddles on the steering wheel. The car can be driven in auto and when in mood of a spirited drive, gears can be manually operated via the paddle-shifters.
This amazing BMW 530d M Sport is priced at Rs. 51.99 lakh only (ex-showroom, Mumbai) which is just Rs. 49,000/- more than the discounted price of the normal 530d. Considering the M Sport package available on other 5-Series cars costs Rs. 4.5 lakh additional, that too without the M alloys, the 530d M Sport is the variant to go for if one wants a sporty luxury sedan.
