BMW India confirms the launch of the G310R has been delayed to 2018, as the company still has to build its dealer network.
Since its official unveil in 2015, the BMW G310R has been in the news and has been a long awaited motorcycle. BMW was supposed to launch the G310R by the second half of 2017, but due to the less number of dealerships of the brand, a BMW India top boss has confirmed that the G310R will be launched sometime the next year, and has not specified when exactly in 2018.
Currently, with only 4 showrooms across the country that specifically cater to the big bike range, BMW Motorrad is looking at expanding its dealer network to make the G310R widely available considering that the motorcycle is a more of a mass-market offering from the company.
The BMW G310R is being developed in collaboration with TVS Motor, and the motorcycle has already entered production. The bike is currently being shipped to the European and US markets. With the launch of the G310R being pushed to next year, the BMW G310 GS, the adventure tourer based on the G310R too will have a 2018 launch here in India.
Powering the BMW G310R is a 313cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox, producing 34 HP of power and 28 Nm of torque. Pricing is expected to be in the range of Rs. 2.50 lakhs.
