The BMW G310R will be launched in India only in October 2016. BMW Motorrad will increase its dealership network before launching the product.
The BMW G310R is a highly anticipated bike and why not? It is going to be the cheapest offering from BMW Motorrad and it already has a lot of fans. The launch date of the bike has been highly anticipated and now it has been confirmed that BMW Motorrad will commence operations in India in October 2016 and subsequently the bike will be launched.
The G310R is the first product to come out of the BMW-TVS joint venture. BMW will manufacture the bike at Hosur and there will be a lot of localisation involved too. Apart from that, the company will also export CKD kits of the bike to other overseas markets except Brazil.
BMW Motorrad currently operates out of BMW dealerships in the country. Deutsche Motoren serves the Delhi and NCR region while Navnit Motors serves other cities in the country. All their bikes are currently imported as CBUs and the G310R is going to be the first locally produced motorcycle from BMW Motorrad.
The BMW G310R is powered by a new 313cc, backward-tilted, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that belts out 34 HP of power at 9500 RPM and 28 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM. Since the company is expecting huge demand for the bike, they will be expanding their dealership network across the country before the launch of the performance motorbike.
