BMW G 310 RR Spotted Undisguised Ahead Of Tomorrow’s Launch

The nose gets a black sticker job

BMW G 310 RR revealed in full, sports a black sticker job on the fairing nose, will command premium pricing

Ahead of its launch tomorrow, BMW G 310 RR sports bike has been revealed in full. If we have to explain the motorcycle in 1 sentence, we would say it’s just the rebadged TVS Apache RR 310 with some minor tweaks here and there.

Customers can book the bike at all BMW Motorrad authorised dealerships or via online by visiting www.bmwmotorradg310rr.com. Post launch, deliveries will be done on a first-come-first-served basis, the company said in a statement.

For ease of ownership, BMW India Financial Services is offering a complete package that includes zero down payment, low monthly payments starting at Rs. 3999/-, and the option to fund insurance and accessories.

The G 310 RR sports very minimal updates when compared to TVS Apache RR 310

Coming to the design, it’s nearly same as of that of the TVS Apache RR 310. The front nose gets a black sticker job giving the upcoming bike a similar look to that of the Triumph Daytona when looked from afar.

The console looks exactly similar to that the Apache RR 310’s unit. Even the bezel’s carbon-fibre-like texture and the tell-tale lights have been retained from the existing unit. But, it shows BMW’s logo, brand name, and tag line: Make Life A Ride at the startup screen.

Further, the bike has been wrapped with BMW’s trademark Light White/Racing Blue Metallic/Racing Red livery. It will share its powertrain as well with the Apache.

The console is a direct lift from the Apache

Despite being a single cylinder with a rather small 312 cc engine, TVS Apache RR 310 has some serious numbers to boast. It can hit 60 km/hr in 2.93 seconds while ton comes in 7.17 seconds. The bike can hit a genuine a top speed of 166 km/hr.

TVS has loaded the flagship Apache with some serious tech and features too. It gets a 5-inch colour TFT screen with connected features including race telemetry, dual-channel ABS, 3 ride modes with electronic throttle control, slipper clutch, Michelin Road 5 tires, etc.

Above all, the bike has been wind tunnel tested for achieving the perfect real world aerodynamics unlike many of its competitors which relied only on CFD software for analysing drag. All these aspects will be carried forward to the G 310 RR.

The bike sports BMW’s trademark Light White/Racing Blue Metallic/Racing Red livery

Currently, TVS Apache RR 310 and BMW’s naked, the G 310R, command a price tag of Rs. 2.65 lakhs while BMW’s adventure bike, the G 310 GS, comes at a premium of Rs. 3.05 lakhs. So, the upcoming bike will be launched at a price tag of around Rs. 3-3.2 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom).

When launched, it will compete against the likes of the recently launched 2022 KTM RC 390, 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 300, and Royal Enfield Continental GT 650.
