BMW G 310 RR nearly gets the same side fairing as that of the TVS Apache RR 310, but front cowl and visor look different
Now it’s official! BMW G 310 RR is the name of the upcoming Beemer. The German marque has also given us a sneak peek into the sports bike’s side fairing ahead of its launch on 15th July. And we have some interesting bits to share.
While the side fairing looks exactly like that of the TVS Apache RR 310’s unit which the upcoming BMW is based on, the front cowl looks different. While the Apache’s unit is bigger and more rounded, the G 310 RR’s cowl looks sleek and tucked in.
From the smudged image that got leaked earlier, we can make out that even the front visor doesn’t resemble the 1 on the existing Apache although the overall silhouette remains the same.
The triangle shaped recess between the 2 head lamps on the Apache has been removed and, in its place, there seems to be something like a fake air intake system or a piano black element giving the upcoming bike a similar look to that of the Triumph Daytona.
Even the visor’s bubble looks bigger and more curved than that of the Apache’s unit. Further the bike has been wrapped with BMW’s trademark Light White/Racing Blue Metallic/Racing Red livery.
Despite being a single cylinder with a rather small 312 cc engine, TVS Apache RR 310 has some serious numbers to boast. It can hit 60 km/hr in 2.93 seconds while ton comes in 7.17 seconds. The bike can hit genuine a top speed of 166 km/hr.
TVS has loaded the flagship Apache with some serious tech and features too. It gets a 5-inch colour TFT screen with connected features including race telemetry, dual-channel ABS, 3 ride modes with electronic throttle control, slipper clutch, Michelin Road 5 tires, etc.
Above all, the bike has been wind tunnel tested for achieving the perfect real world aerodynamics unlike many of its competitors which relied only on CFD software for analysing drag.
Currently, TVS Apache RR 310 and BMW’s naked, the G 310R, command a price tag of Rs. 2.65 lakhs while BMW’s adventure bike, the G 310 GS, comes at a premium of Rs. 3.05 lakhs. So, the upcoming bike will be launched at a price tag of around Rs. 3-3.2 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom).
When launched, it will compete against the likes of the recently launched 2022 KTM RC 390, 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 300, and Royal Enfield Continental GT 650.
