BMW G 310 R & G 310 GS Have Been Discontinued In India, No New Inventory In BMW Motorrad Dealers

BMW Motorrad appears to have discontinued the G 310 R and the adventure version, G 310 GS, in India. The reason for the discontinuation of these bikes can be down to the 310 platform being at the end of its lifecycle and BMW deciding not to upgrade to the OBD-2B emission norms.

When Were They Discontinued?

The sources suggest that the bikes have been discontinued since January 2025, and dealerships haven’t received fresh dispatches from the factory. Interestingly, BMW was offering discounts up to Rs. 50,000 on the 310 twins until December 2025. As of present, the BMW Motorrad dealerships don’t have any unsold inventory of the 310 twins.

Future Prospects For Entry-Level Bikes

The German manufacturer will continue to sell the G 310 RR in India for the future. It is well known that BMW is focusing its efforts on developing the F 450 GS, and the 450cc engine will be the entry point for the brand. However, the F 450 GS is expected to launch at the end of 2025. This makes the G 310 RR the entry-level bike in the BMW Motorrad family.

Same Model, Different Guise?

It can be observed that buyers who crave the 310-based bikes can still buy the TVS Apache RTR 310 and RR 310 until the new RTX-D4-based bikes with the new 300cc engine hit the market.
