BMW F750GS and F850GS will be launched in India at the Auto Expo 2018 in February.
BMW has refreshed its middle-weight adventure tourer twins by introducing the new F750GS and F850GS. Unveiled at the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Italy, the two motorcycles replace the earlier versions F700GS and F800GS. BMW has recently ventured into the Indian market with its vast line-up of models which are going to be joined by the BMW F750GS and F850GS in February next year as the pair is going to be launched at the Auto Expo 2018.
Following the design lines of the bigger sibling R1200GS, both the motorcycles come bestowed with muscular aesthetics having broad and tall dimensions. The asymmetrical headlamps and simple tail lamp follow the traditional BMW pattern and carry full-LED lights. All the information is displayed on the ‘connectivity’ multi-functional instrument cluster.
BMW F750GS and F850GS both optimise the same 853cc parallel-twin powertrain but come tuned in the varied state. While the former churns out 77 HP and 83 Nm, the latter produces 85 HP of power and 92 Nm of torque. Also upgraded is the frame which is now the more efficient monocoque type carrying tweaked suspension geometry and fuel tank placement. The company also claims a more ‘powerful’ exhaust thanks to the motor’s new 270-degree firing order.
On the electronics front, the F750GS and F850GS are as advanced as any other BMW motorcycle featuring ABS, ASC and ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’ riding modes as standard with electronic suspension adjustment (ESA) as optional. The prices of the motorcycles are yet to be known but we may expect it to be priced close to the Triumph Tiger 800 range which will be its direct rival in India. Also, both the bikes will be the most affordable offerings in India until the launch of BMW G310R.
