BMW Motorrad has introduced the all-new BMW F 850 GS Adventure today in India.
BMW F 850 GS Adventure is the latest offering in the adventure-touring motorcycle segment in India. It is priced at Rs. 15.20 lakhs (ex-showroom). The bike has been brought to India as a CBU and can be booked across all BMW Motorrad dealerships. The bike gets the GS logo running across the faring. At the front, it comes with asymmetrical LED lights that give the bike a unique look, also the LED DRLs add to a more premium feel. It gets engine protection bars and a stainless steel luggage rack.
The F 850 GS gets a low-slung double seat that is convenient while standing on the bike. The wide enduro footrests and adjustable levers add to the comfort of the bike when you tackle even the roughest of terrains. The bike is also fitted with a centre stand which can be used on off-road surfaces. To enhance the riding experience, the bike comes with two riding modes, rain and road, as standard. Also, Automatic Stability Control (ASC) comes with the bike as standard to improve rider safety.
BMW offers more riding modes as optional fitments such as dynamic and enduro modes. These modes come along with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and ABS Pro. The BMW F 850 GS gets a completely new instrument cluster design, consisting of an analogue tachometer and a multifunctional display, alongside a number of control lamps. An optional 6.5-inch, full-colour, TFT display is also on the cards. The BMW Motorrad multi-controller gives the rider quick access to vehicle and connectivity functions. App-free phone and media functions can be used and the rider can make calls and listen to music via Bluetooth.
The bike is powered by a 853cc, DOHC, two-cylinder, water-cooled, in-line engine that can churn out 90 BHP at 8000 RPM and 86 Nm of torque at 6250 RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that gets an anti-hopping clutch set-up and has a top speed of 197 km/hr. The bike is fitted with a huge 23-litre tank that has a reserve fuel capacity of 3.5-litre. At a seat height of 875 mm, the bike doesn’t seem to be too high and looks practical for short riders too. BMW offers optional accessories on the bike like, heated grips, auxiliary headlamps, tyre pressure control, pannier cases, Anti-theft alarm, off-road tyres, HP sports silencer and many other accessories.
