To mark the successful 40 years of the famous GS lineup, BMW has revealed a special edition of the F 750 GS and F 850 GS. BMW calls them the F 750 GS & F 850 GS ‘40 Years of GS Edition’.
The first motorbike in the GS lineup was the BMW R 80 GS. Since its launch in 1980, the lineup has evolved into an extensive family that constantly remains at the top of BMW’s sales charts.
Like any other anniversary edition, the most standout feature of this special edition is the paint job. Both the BMW F 750 GS and the F 850 GS come with a yellow, black, and silver livery. This livery is inspired by the 80s BMW R 100 GS’s bumblebee colourway.
In addition to the paint job, the special edition includes anniversary badging, a new seat, painted forks, and black (F 750 GS) or golden (F 850 GS) wheels. Not only this, but there are also some additional features on offer in the special edition.
The feature list for both the BMW F 750 and F 850 GS ’40 years of GS edition’ includes standard LED turn signals, USB port on the dashboard, ABS Pro, and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) with the standard features.
The 850 variants also get a full-TFT dash with connectivity features as standard. To top it all, the BMW F 850 GS Adventure will also get adjustable windscreen and a high-level GPS mount.
The engine specs remain unchanged, though. Both motorcycles share the same 853cc twin-cylinder mill. On the BMW F 750 GS, this mill produces 77 HP at 7500 RPM and 83 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM whereas, on the F 850 GS, it produces 95 HP at 8250 RPM and 92 Nm of torque at 6250 RPM.
The BMW F 750 GS and F 850 GS ’40 years of GS edition’ are likely to reach stores somewhere around September internationally. We expect this edition to arrive in India soon after the international arrival.
There is no news on the price yet, but for reference, the F 750 GS and the F 850 GS cost Rs. 12.2 lakhs and 13.7 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
