BMW has set a rather high asking price for the C 400 GT
BMW Motorrad India has launched the BMW C 400 GT with a price tag of Rs. 9.95 lakhs (ex-showroom), today.
Brought to the country as a completely built-up unit (CBU), the maxi-scooter is available with 2 colour choices, namely – Alpine White and Style Triple Black.
Looking thoroughly modern, the scooter that is built for comfort and touring, has LED headlights with LED DRLs, integrated LED blinkers, and an LED tail lamp.
It also features a tall flyscreen, 2 glove compartments, under-seat storage, keyless ride, electronic immobiliser, 12V socket, a 6.5-inch TFT instrument display and smartphone connectivity.
Powering the BMW C 400 GT is a 350cc, water-cooled, single cylinder motor making 33.5 BHP at 7500 RPM and 35 Nm of torque at 5750 RPM. It is paired with a stepless CVT.
That power and torque is enough to propel the vehicle weighing 214 kg (wet, 12.8-litre fuel tank), to a top speed of 139 km/hr and do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 9.5 seconds.
Riding on 15-inch front (120/70-section) and 14-inch rear (150/70-section) cast aluminium wheels, the BMW C 400 GT has 35 mm telescopic front forks (110 mm travel) and pre-load adjustable rear shocks (112 mm travel).
Built around a tubular steel frame, the maxi-scooter also has twin front discs and a single rear disc (all 265 mm), Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and ABS for safety.
As standard, the maxi-scooter comes with a warranty for 3 years (unlimited kilometres) which is extendable for 2 more years and for customers who do not mind spending more than the quoted BMW C 400 GT price, a range of optional equipment is available.
