BMW introduces two new variants of the 7-Series in India – 740d & i7 M70
BMW has launched the 740d M Sport & i7 M70 xDrive variants in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs. 1.81 crores and Rs. 2.50 crores respectively (all prices, ex-showroom). While the diesel variant is assembled locally in India at BMW Group Plant Chennai, the electric variant is imported directly via CBU.
The BMW 740d M Sport is available in Oxide Grey, Mineral White, Black Sapphire and BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue colour options. BMW i7 M70 xDrive is available in the two-tone paintworks along with BMW Individual paintwork as standard – Black Sapphire Roof or Oxide Grey Roof paintwork are possible with BMW Individual Paintwork of customer’s choice.
BMW 740d M Sport is powered by a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine that produces an output of 286 HP and a torque of 650 Nm at 1500-2500 RPM, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It does 0-100 km/hr in just 6 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/hr.
BMW i7 M70 xDrive is powered by an electric powertrain that produces 660 HP and 1100 Nm of torque. It does 0-100 km/hr in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/hr. It comes with a 101.7 kWh battery pack that offers a WLTP range of 560 km on full charge.
Some of the highlights include BMW Crystal Headlights, illuminated BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille, 31.3-inch touch screen with 8K resolution, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with 36 speakers, Executive Lounge Seating, BMW ConnectedDrive technology, Cruise Control, Attentiveness Assistant, Parking Assistant Professional with remote parking via smartphone and Reversing Assistant.
Some of the safety features include six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounting and integrated emergency spare wheel under the load floor.
