BMW 5 Series LWB is set to launch on 24th July in India, bookings open
BMW has officially commenced bookings for the new generation 5 Series in India, with the launch slated for 24th July. This marks the first time the 5 Series will be offered in a Long Wheelbase version in the Indian market.
The eighth generation 5 Series can currently be booked in a single variant: the 530Li M Sport LWB. Prospective buyers have the option to choose from two exterior paint finishes – M Carbon Black Metallic and Sparkling Copper Grey Metallic. Additionally, the model offers a choice between 18-inch mono-tone and 19-inch dual-tone wheels. BMW has also introduced Titanium Bronze and Aluminium Satinated trim options for added customisation.
The 2024 BMW 5 Series LWB showcases several notable design enhancements. The front end features a larger iteration of BMW’s signature kidney grille, flanked by curved LED daytime running lights integrated into the LED headlamps. Black inserts on both sides of the bumper, ‘M’ badging on the front fender, flush-fitting door handles, ‘5’ badging on the C-pillar, and sleek wraparound LED taillights contribute to the vehicle’s updated aesthetic.
Inside, the new 5 Series aims to rival the Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB with a host of features. The dashboard houses a curved dual-screen layout, which includes a 14.9-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch driver’s display. Other interior highlights include a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, reclining rear seats, a Level 2 ADAS suite, USB Type-C charging ports and electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats.
Under the hood, the new-gen 5 Series is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. A 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine is anticipated to be available shortly after the initial launch. BMW is also expected to offer a mild-hybrid system to complement these powertrains.
