BMW 3-Series Shadow Edition has been launched in India; available in 330i M-Sport and 320d Edition Sport trims.

Adding some excitement to its entry-level product portfolio in India, BMW has launched the limited edition 3-Series Shadow Edition priced from Rs. 41.4 lakhs to Rs. 47.3 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The Shadow Edition is available in both petrol and diesel trims, based on the 330i M-Sport and 320d Edition Sport respectively. Other diesel-powered variants of the 3-Series, namely the Prestige and Luxury Line, have been excluded from the Shadow Edition range.
The Shadow Edition features no mechanical changes but comes with a fair amount of tweaks to lend a fresh and sporty appeal to the car. On the outside, the sedan features 18-inch alloy wheels, smoked headlamps and tail lamps, high-gloss black finish on the front grill and dark chrome-plated exhaust pipes. Colour options include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Sunset Orange, Mediterranean Blue (exclusive to 320d Edition Sport Shadow) and Estoril Blue (exclusive to 330i M-Sport Shadow).
Inside the cabin, the BMW 330i Edition Sport Shadow features fine-wood trim with Pearl Chrome accents, Sport steering wheel with red stitching and Sport seats. The 330i M-Sport Shadow’s ‘M’ style cabin gets Dark Aluminium Carbon and Pearl Chrome trim along with leather Sport seats, M leather steering wheel and M door sill finishers. Apart from a 10.5-inch virtual instrument cluster that gets new contrast stitching, the cabin is adorned by an 8.7-inch infotainment unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
On the mechanical front, the 330i M-Sport Shadow Edition comes powered by a 2.0-litre petrol engine while the 320d Edition Sport Shadow Edition uses a 2.0-litre diesel motor. The petrol motor is good for 252 HP of power and 350 Nm of torque and the fuel-burner churns out 190 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission while the 330i M-Sport Shadow gets a variable sport steering as well.
The Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class are arch rivals to the BMW 3-Series, the new generation model of which is expected to be showcased later this year.
