BMW India commences bookings for the M340i xDrive variant of its 3-Series luxury sedan, later today and the token amount for it has been set at Rs. 1 lakh. The car can only be booked online at BMW Online Shop and will be available in limited units only.
A specially curated driver training programme will be organised for the first 40 customers of the M340i xDrive at a race track in India, where certified BMW trainers will help owners master their racing skills.
The car is powered by a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder motor that is good for 374 HP and 500 Nm of torque. It can do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in just over 4 seconds, but is a bit on the heavier side at 1745 kg (EU scales).
Engineered by BMW’s M division, the car, says its maker, has M-specific chassis tuning in addition to the xDrive all-wheel-drive system and the M Sport rear differential.
Customers can personalise their car with specially curated BMW M Performance Accessories packages – Enthusiast Pack, Racer’s Pack and Motorsport Pack, to further enhance the vehicle’s appearance.
With the BMW 3-Series M340i xDrive bookings having begun, expect the model to be launched soon. The carmaker says deliveries will be done on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Earlier this year, the German firm launched the 3-Series Gran Limousine in India and the M340i xDrive will cost more than that by a fair margin.
