BMW India has lauched the 3-Series Convertible in India. The German automaker has offered the covertible version of the 3-Series in 330d trim. Powered by a 2993cc, 6-cylinder engine, the BMW 330d Convertible produces 245 BHP of power at 4000 RPM and 520 Nm of torque between 1750-3000 RPM. 0 – 100 kmph is done and dusted in just 6.4 seconds and the car is limited to 250 kmph. The BMW 330d convertible feature a 7-speed automatic gearbox with steering mounted paddle shifters. The 3-Series Convertible is priced at Rs. 57 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and becomes the entry level BMW Convertible in India. The other convertibles that BMW sells in India are the Z4 and 650i. The BMW 3-Series convertible is a CBU and features a hard top which can be retracted with a touch of a button.
The BMW 3-Series convertible is a very practical car, thanks to its diesel engine which is not only fast but frugal too. BMW recently launched the all new 3-Series globally and the next generation model will arrive in India next year. We can expect the convertible version to be upgraded as well. The Bavarian automaker is not expecting any significant volumes with the 3-Series Convertible, which as of today has no real competition. Being a BMW, the car comes loaded with equipment, which is similar to the 330d Highline.
