BMW 2 Series limited edition launched in India during the festive season
BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 46 lakhs (ex-showroom). It is a locally assembled model that gets M Performance parts and only limited units are available for sale in the country.
Customers can book the car exclusively on the BMW Online shop. It is locally assembled at the German carmaker’s Chennai plant. It is only available with a petrol engine option with Black Sapphire metallic paintwork and Sensatec Oyster I Black upholstery.
Unique details of the M Performance Edition include M Performance Front Grill in Cerium Grey, fog lamp inserts and ORVMs in Cerium Grey and M Performance Stickers on the side.
The interior comes with M Performance Alcantara Gear Selector Lever. Additionally, the special edition gets M Performance Door Pin and M Performance Door Projector. The car is equipped with BMW Live Cockpit Professional as standard which gets 10.25-inch digital instrument display and a 10.25-inch Control Display. It also offers BMW Head-Up display for more convenience while driving.
Other features include full LED headlights and tail lights, ambient lighting, BMW Virtual Assistant, BMW Gesture Control, HiFi loudspeaker system, Parking Assistant with Rear View Camera, Reversing Assistant, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Some of the safety features include 6 airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounting and integrated emergency spare wheel.
It is powered by the same 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 176 HP and 280 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. BMW claims 0-100 km/hr in 7.1 seconds. It comes with three driving modes – ECO PRO, Comfort and Sport.
