The iconic Tornado Tre 1130 has been displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Italian motorbike has a top speed of 290 km/hr.
Benelli has history of making aggressive looking motorcycles and backing up their looks with its formidable engineering prowess. The most legendary proof of the auto-maker’s heritage is the Tornado Tre 1130 fully faired motorbike. Introduced at a time when Benelli was just a small Italian manufacturer, the Tre 1130 lifted Benelli’s stature to the level of Ducati and Aprilia. Thus, it’s no surprise that bike enthusiasts are extremely happy upon seeing the legendary bike being displayed in India at the 2016 Auto Expo.
The Tornado 1130 has a 3-cylinder engine which produces a healthy 160 BHP of power at 10,500 RPM and equally impressive 124 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM. This much power is enough to propel the bike to an eye watering 290 km/hr top speed. The bike sports 50 mm Marzocchi inverted forks up front and an Extreme Tech rear shock setup. Another unique feature in the bike is the presence of fans in the exhaust to drive out heat faster and make the sound better. Brembo 320mm front rotors and 240mm rear rotors work as anchors to stop this speed machine. The bike’s Indian launch seems unlikely as the market is too small for this class of super-bikes.
