Benelli To Launch Up To 8 New BS6 Motorcycles By August 2021
The Italian firm also wants to have 50 dealerships by March next year.
Benelli India has revealed that it has 8 BS6 bikes upcoming in 2021 and says it will launch one bike every month from January to August.
The brand’s dealers had a tough time this year, as only one BS6 product from the Italian firm got launched, that being the Imperiale 400.
However, 2021 will be a more eventful year for the 2-wheeler brand with its “one BS6 product per month” plan that will run till August.
In order to ensure that its products reach customers, the company plans to open more than 1 dealership per week, mostly in tier-2 and tier-3 locations, till the end of March 2021.
About 7-8 dealerships are in various stages of completion at the moment and in a month’s time, the firm would have 42 dealers under its fold. By March next year, it will have 50 dealerships in total.
During FY20, the company sold around 1500 units, while this year, despite facing a pandemic, sales have shot up. By the end of October 2020, Benelli India had sold 3464 units.
Now, the firm wants to sell more than 7000 units in the next financial year, riding on its revamped product portfolio. It has the capacity to produce 30,000 units a year at its Hyderabad facility.
By 2021, the firm wants to expand production to 40,000 units, provided it rakes in good numbers over the next 12-15 months. It plans to lure in buyers looking to upgrade from 150cc to 250cc bikes and states every model it gets to India will be assembled in the country.
