Benelli has unveiled the TRK 502 adventure bike at the on-going EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. DSK Motowheels will bring the same to India next year, assembling it locally.
The 2015 EICMA is on and there are a whole lot of new toys on showcase, most of them accounting for a lot of drool. Benelli has just lifted the veils off the TRK 502 at the show and the bike has already won our hearts thanks to its rugged and robust styling which also has a very muscular touch to it. The bike is going to be apt for those who love going for long rides that consist of varied terrains and road surfaces.
The Benelli TRK 502 comes with an in-line twin-cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valves per cylinder, 499.6cc engine that belts out 47.6 HP of power and 45 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a wet sump and it has a 4-litre oil capacity. Fuel is electronically injected through 3 throttle bodies and the exhaust system comes with a catalytic converter and oxygen sensor. The 502 comes with a wet clutch and the engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The bike comes with a steel tube frame. The front suspension has a 50 mm upside-down fork and the stroke is 150 mm. The rear suspension comes with a swingarm and a centre shock absorber and it has a stroke of 144 mm. The Benelli TRK 502 comes with ABS and has 320 mm and 260 mm discs at the front and rear respectively. Benelli offers 17-inch wheels on the TRK 502 but one can also opt for 19-inch wheels which are optional.
The Benelli TRK 502 measures 2380 mm, 912 mm and 1465 mm in length, width and height respectively and it has a seat height of 815 mm. The motorcycle has a ground clearance of 230 mm and a fuel tank capacity of 20-litres. Benelli will launch the TRK 502 in India, likely to be called as TRK 500 (going by how the TNT 302 is called TNT 300), coming via the CKD route. Expect prices to be north of Rs. 4 lakhs.
