Benelli aims to come back even stronger and compete in the 400cc segment.
Benelli has managed to fetch public attention quite sometimes and it is no different this time. In the latest news, Benelli plans to launch a range of two-wheelers in each segment for the Indian two-wheeler market. The 300cc – 400cc motorcycle segment has laid its ground in the Indian market and Benelli will target the same by launching a 400cc cruiser motorcycle at a cost of under Rs. 2 lakhs, aiming to compete with Royal Enfield and Jawa motorcycles.
It hasn’t been too long since Benelli launched the TRK 502X and 502 in the ADV segment. And fresh out of the oven has been the Benelli Leoncino 500. The brand plans to further expand its line-up by entering the scooter segment with 150cc–250cc scooters. That’s just for starters, there’s probability of a 250cc motorcycle from Benelli to make a comeback, but it will be priced upwards of Rs. 2.5 lakhs. All of these products are on the chart.
The 400cc cruiser will likely be the Imperiale which is a single-cylinder engined bike and churns out around 23 BHP and 28 Nm of torque. Again, not a doubt in the engine being BS6 compliant and the Benelli Imperiale 400 having a disc on either side with single-channel ABS.
Currently, Benelli has sold 1000 units accounted from January 2019 and aims to sell 1000 more units by December 2019 thereby providing a strong push. The brand also anticipates opening new dealerships across left-out cities and avoid volume cannibalisation.
