Bajaj Auto has confirmed its plans to manufacture a fuel injected version of its flagship model, the Pulsar 200 NS. The Pulsar 200 NS featuring fuel injection is planned for the Indonesian markets first. The motorcycle boasts a 200cc liquid-cooled engine, featuring a 4-valve head with SOHC layout. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox that is capable to produce maximum power outputs of 23.5 BHP and 18.3 Nm of peak torque. The fuel injection system is likely to boost performance and improve the fuel efficiency of the Pulsar 200 NS and one can expect almost Duke 200 levels of output.
Bajaj Auto will launch the fuel-injected version in India, sometime later, after Indonesia. The current model of the Pulsar 200 NS features a carburetor. The addition of the fuel injection system will make the motorcycle pricier, as the fuel injection system itself is more expensive than the carburetor. Rest of the motorcycle is likely to remain unchanged. The Pulsar 200 NS with its fuel-injected avatar will be capable of delivering improved performance competing with its cousin, the KTM 200 Duke.
