The BS6 variant of the Pulsar 150 is Rs. 8998/- more expensive than the BS4 model.
As the BS6 emission deadline is nearing, the auto industry is busy rolling out compliant products for the same. Keeping up with the trend we have Bajaj offering BS6-compliant versions of its fleet starting with the Pulsar 125 Neon drum variant priced at Rs. 68,700/-. Similarly, the disc variant costs Rs. 73,000/-, all prices, ex-showroom. The new BS6-compliant models get an FI system and a re-engineered exhaust, which may have made an impact on the output figures. In its current form, the Pulsar 125 produces 12 PS @ 8500 RPM and 11 Nm at 6500 RPM from its 124.38cc, single-cylinder, two-valve, air-cooled engine. BS6 power figures are yet to be revealed.
The new Bajaj Pulsar 150 with a BS6-compliant engine has been launched at a starting price of Rs. 94,956/- ex-showroom, Delhi for the front disc brake variant. The twin-disc variant is priced at Rs. 98,835/- ex-showroom, Delhi. The BS6 variant of the Pulsar 150 is Rs. 8998/- more expensive than the BS4 model. The company is yet to announce the price of the BS6-version of the low-priced Neon variant of the Pulsar 150.
The FI system has been designed in-house at Bajaj Auto’s state-of-the-art R&D centre, and is said to ensure seamless power delivery, feather-touch start and optimum fuel efficiency. The BS6 version of the Pulsar 150 will be available in two colours – Black Chrome and Black Red.
The Pulsar 150 continues to be powered by the same 149.5 cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, two-valve, single overhead cam (SOHC) engine. The BS6 variant churns the same 13.8 PS of power, but at a higher rev range of 8500 RPM instead of 8000 RPM. The peak torque now stands at 13.25 Nn instead of 13.4 Nm @ 6500 RPM.
Prices for the new Bajaj Pulsar 220F BS6 start at Rs. 1.16 lakh ex-showroom, up Rs. 8000/- from the outgoing BS4 range. The main change in the BS6 model is the inclusion of fuel injection and a revised exhaust system.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 BS6 is priced at Rs. 1.24 lakh ex-showroom. The new model gets a fresh FI system and a reworked exhaust layout.
