The Turkey spec Pulsar 200 SS gets marginally improved power output over the Indian version and will be manufactured and exported from the company’s Chakan-based facility.
Bajaj Auto has surely grown a strong affinity towards Turkey which is expected to be a major market for the manufacturer overseas. Having showcased its new range of products at a priority in the country, news now comes that the Indian two-wheeler giant will be launching its new flagship the Pulsar 200 SS by June in Turkey this year. Bajaj’s Turkish distributor Kuralkan Holding confirmed the news at the recently concluded 2015 Eurasia Motorcycle Expo and added that the Discover 150F is also set to go on sale this year.
To be exported from Bajaj’s Indian facility as a CBU, the Turkey spec Pulsar 200 SS gets a marginal increase in output over the Indian version and is powered by the same 199.5cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with fuel injection technology tuned to offer 24.4 PS of power at 9500 RPM and 18.6 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM, paired to a 6-speed transmission. In addition, the bike comes kitted up with the radical new full-fairing, dual projector headlamps, LED DRLs, dual-channel ABS system and much more.
Bajaj is already witnessing strong demand for its existing products including the Pulsar 200 NS, Discover 125 ST and Boxer 150 in Turkey and the new models are only expected to help attain popularity further on the sales chart. The company’s distributor has achieved 120 dealerships and 135 service points within eight months which is set to expand further this year. The 200 SS is expected to be priced around 9999 Turkish lira (Rs. 2.41 lakhs). The Indian version though will be priced almost a lakh cheaper and will come in ABS and non-ABS variants to keep the model competitive.
